abstract = "In the present work, we show the low latitude ionospheric response
during an intense solar flare that occurred at 11 March 2015. The
dayside ionosphere has presented an abrupt increase of the Total
Electron Content as soon as the increase in the EUV flux is
observed due to the solar flare. At the present, we analyze the
response of the DIXMAP during the flare event. The DIXMAP is an
index that express the ionospheric response to any disturbances in
the South America region. Preliminary results has shown that the
decay in the DIXMAP following the decrease of the flare EUV flux
The results are presented and discussed in terms of the
latitudinal evolution of the DIX with respect to the EUV flux.",
